How It Works
At Checkout:
When you purchase a custom Happy Family illustration, you will have several options at checkout. You will be able to choose just the custom illustration (24×30), with no add ons. Or, for your benefit and ease (or your recipient’s), you can choose from a few “add ons” to your illustration. Add ons include:
- Your illustration file, EXTRA large (30×40), + $20
- Additional people in your portrait (greater than 5 people in your portrait), +$25 per additional person
- Additional pets in your portrait (greater than 1 pet), +$25
- A proofing stage, including up to two revisions, +$65
- 2.5 inch bleed for printing on canvas, +$20
- Archival CD Case and CD (highly recommended), +$50
Planning Your Illustration:
Once you have paid, you will receive an emailed receipt and a link to a pdf download with instructions and help for planning the best quality family illustration possible. Read this thoroughly, and give time and thought to planning your custom illustration. The greater your effort, the greater your end product. Keep in mind that all pictures and writing you submit will potentially be featured as a post on Oohmoon.com, unless you specify within your entry otherwise.
Redeeming Your Illustration:
Go to oohmoon.com. Click on “Happy Family Illustrations”. Click on “Redeem Your Illustration”. Fill out the form provided to redeem your particular purchase. Upload your family and home photos. (See planning pdf for recommendations for the most beneficial pictures to upload.) Fill in as thorough of information about your family, each member’s personalities, and illustration concept as possible.
Submit.
The Wait:
Upon submitting your entry, you will receive an approximated date for the completion of your illustration. Your wait may be fairly short, to fairly long. Katie can complete up to one Happy Family illustration a day, and up to five a week. Depending on the volume and frequency of orders received will depend on your completion date. A more precise time frame is impossible to gage at this time. Note that the sooner you are able to redeem your illustration online, the sooner you’ll receive its completion. First come, first serve upon online redemption of your illustration (not upon purchase date).
Note, also, that Katie will be sending out lovely gift cards to those who have purchased an illustration. These make the perfect gift to present to your recipient as you await the arrival of their illustration. Note that while sales are open during November and December 2011, Katie will not be starting Custom Family illustration work until the first week in January 2012. After an aggressive 2011 schedule, Katie will be taking the month of December (mostly) off. Again, you will, however still have the gift card to present to your loved one.
The Celebration, Joy, Excitement of Receiving Your Illustration:
Your illustration will be emailed to you upon its completion. See “What You’ll Get” to learn more. Once you receive your illustration, be sure to display it as your profile picture on Facebook, referencing oohmoon.com. And be sure to watch for your blog post so that you can comment on your posts! Readers will enjoy reading you’re reaction to your piece! Don’t forget to do a little dance, reach for a tissue, or give the giver of this gift a huge sappy hug. Celebrate, enjoy, cherish this very personal piece of art.

The illustration is just perfect and I love it! I can't wait to have it hanging in our home as a daily reminder to glorify Jesus! – Cara
