Let Go and Dance

As I was choosing which piece to giveaway today, my eyes and heart were stopped at this piece. I just sat and stared, and thought to myself, “That’s how I feel right now.” And I now whisper, thank You Lord! This dancer looks free. Content. Like peace in motion. I woke up feeling the exact opposite. But through the course of my early morning work schedule, the Lord worked in my heart in a way to bring a peace that only He can bring. As I work in the morning, I like to listen to faith messages. If I don’t, my mind goes idle and becomes full of self. To say the least, this is not a good way to start the day. Lately I’ve been listening via podcast. If not podcast, it’s usually internet radio.

In a way that only God can, He used these teacher’s lessons from the Bible to give me EXACTLY what my ears and heart needed to hear and absorb this day. His Word (aka: the Bible) is indeed alive and active! In the course of showing me His Word, He showed me Himself! And it was Himself that brought the peace. The Bible calls Jesus the Prince of Peace. And I know from personal testimony that He truly is.

Is your heart in turmoil today? Maybe you can’t place your finger on why. Maybe you know exactly why it is. Listen. Where we invite Jesus to be our Lord, there is peace. Let Him be Lord of your situation. If you haven’t invited Him yet, invite Him to be Lord of your heart once and for all. Where He is Lord, He brings peace. This morning I had a situation I had not given over to Him to be Lord over. When I did, peace swept over me. True peace can sweep over you today too. Just invite Him—That is, the Prince of Peace, to take over where you have tried to take over. He’ll do something no one or nothing else can. Peace doesn’t necessarily come with situations being resolved. Peace comes with letting go, and letting God, as the saying goes. Letting God be Lord.

Do like this dancer, and let go of all that hinders and weighs you down today. And in return, find peace like a river, joy like a fountain, and freedom like one who dances.

You keep [her] in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because [she] trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3

xox,

Katie
