HappyFamily Farnsworth

Thank you to Michelle for another new concept! Loved your travel idea! Wow! I bet you have so many family memories from your travels! How wonderful!!!
Here is her entry:
****************************
| Where are you from? | My husband and I are both born and raised in Bismarck. |
| Tell me a brief summary of each member of your family (name, age, hair/eye color, personality). * | |
| Okay, here we go…lol… Richard, kinda of graying hair…but originally dark brown and piercing blue eyes. Richard is definitely a force in all of our lives. He is smart, successful, funny, generous and loves a good party. He is an amazing father. Michelle, blonde hair and blue eyes. Exuberant, loyal, happy, wears her emotions on her sleeve, loving and generous. Harry, 15, light brown hair, blue eyes. Harry is the sweetest guy in America. Loyal, happy, easy-going and always ready with his dry sense of humor. Tommy, almost 11, light brown hair and most definitely has his father’s piercing blue eyes. Tommy has a heart the size of ND, but has a mischievous side and a contagious laugh! Cowboy, 9 years old, dark googly-eyed Boston Terrier. Cowboy is definitely a big part of our family. Cowboy loves to play, cuddle and EAT! He lives for food and he lives to go on rides with us. He is completely goofy! Yesterday we acquired a new family member: Stella Blue! She is almost 2 months old, Blue Heeler Corgi/Husky mix. Stella is sweet as apple pie and ready to lick and cuddle at all times! She has one blue eye and one brown eye!

| The 3 to 5 prominent colors I would like in my piece include (be specific—ie. “royal blue” rather than “blue”, or “light celery green” rather than “green”):
* |
A moss green, a true moss green; like the kind growing on the ground that is fluffy and you want to lay down on it and take a nap!
Rust. As in when the side of a building is all rusted out and old and crunky. Blue. A royal blue. Not too light and not too bright or green. Grey. The color of concrete. White. |
| Is there a career path you would like to include in an illustration * | My husband owns OSI, ISI and Sunny Maids. Spends most of him time behind a computer! lol But not sure I want that illustrated…probably just want to concentrate on other details (See next question.)
I am a jewelry maker and writer. I think it might be fun to just have me wearing a big, chunky necklace with a key. |
| Tell me what you would like to see your family doing (would you like them just sitting all together posing, as if for a picture? Or would you like them to be doing something together). Please supply the most details here: * | |
| I’m not sure if I can accurately describe what I’m after, but I will try. Richard and I decided long ago to make travel a big part of our life. We have traveled a fair amount around the United States, but our real love is going to Mexico. But we also have a lake cabin at Brush Lake and spend most of our summer out there. My idea is to have the illustration look like it’s on a curve, like we are traveling the world and have us look like we are going from destination to destination? Or that the map would be behind us with key cities pin-pointed and we are in the foreground? Cities we have visited as a family: Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Minneapolis, Orlando and NYC. In Mexico: We love going to Isla Mujeres, which is a tiny island off the coast of Cancun. We also go to Playa del Carmen. |
|
| Any other details you might be able to give me that would help ensure your enjoyment of the piece:
* |
My husband and boys do not really ever dress up…lol…they enjoy shorts and tees. It’s pretty much their uniform, so having them wear anything different would not be them.
I love wearing skinny jeans and v-neck shirts or long dresses…but I think the jeans look would be best with a big necklace and/or cuff bracelet. I love mixing old pieces, like antique keys with new components in my jewelry. Cowboy needs to definitely have his crazy eyes prominent…they are funny! |

Fun family, no? And I need to say I enjoyed this color palette too!! And Michelle’s color descriptions as well.
I can SO identify with Michelle being the only girl! No wonder the new puppy is a girl!
Sweet. Loved this HappyFamily!!
And love you, Oohmoonies!
xox,
Katie

I woke this morning to the email containing our new family illustration and I wanted to SCREAM with joy! Are you kidding me? Could Katie be any more talented?
I couldn’t imagine this outcome. I really think it’s better than my imagination could conjure up! We love to travel and I threw that idea out to her…but to have us in the airplane – genius! hahaa
If you have any inkling of an idea to have her do a family illustration, DO IT! I hope you can be a part of this exclusive club of families.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
