This was such a fun piece for me! Eggplant is one of my favorite colors to illustrate with. So I was all over this color palette! Not only that, they are book worms, love playing with wands, are coffee drinkers, and gardeners! Do you just like them? I do!! Here’s their entry:

| Doug is Dad! He has silver, spiky hair and greenish eyes. He is a young 50-something who adores the girls in his family. He coaches his daughters’ two soccer teams (their jersey colors are maroon and silver). He loves coffee (non-fat mocha, please!) and gardening. He has worked for Nike for 17 years and EVERYTHING is about supporting the swoosh and sports!I’m Mom (Dawn). I have curly brown hair and light blue eyes. Doug and I are the same height. I am a writer who has recently returned to get my masters in library science. Books and words (reading and writing) are important to me — as well as balance through jogging and a good latte!
Emma is 14-years old. She has medium length brown hair and blue eyes. She is ALL about drama! Wicked is her favorite musical, and Emma will pursue acting at a performing arts high school in the fall. She still has a GREAT imagination and can often be found playing Harry Potter with her younger sister. Wands are a HUGE accessory in our house. Ellie is 11 years old. She plays soccer and loves to climb trees and pretend that she’s Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter. Ellie has longish curly red hair and blue eyes (and by the way, all the girls in our family have lots o’ freckles). Both girls are almost ALWAYS reading! Olive is our black poodle mix puppy. She is a sweetheart and our 3rd child. We’d love if you could incorporate her in the picture somehow. I will send a picture of her. She loves to lay flat as a pancake with her feet splayed behind her, and her favorite hobby is digging and eating carrots from our garden! We are super casual family — nothing too fancy. We love earth-tones — olive green, some eggplant purple. |
