A is for Adam’s Apple
Alphabet Anatomy. That was the series I created this illustration for last year. And 25 others like it. I chose to illustrate a body part for each letter of the alphabet. I was surprised by the number of body part options I had for many of the letters. I could probably do the entire series over and not repeat one of the body parts! Some of the letters I could redo 10 more times!
See all of the Alphabet Anatomy series.
I had a lot of fun creating this series. It was somewhat abstract. Had a bit of a hipster jive to it. And the colors. Loved working in those bold colors. And working with type too. I really don’t work with type enough. We took several classes in college on typographic theory. And the classes that weren’t on theory or identifying a good font, were on designing and critiquing the design of the type. I do love me some typographic design. Not that this was a winning example of that… but it was a rare series with which I included type. Fun stuff.
Anyways, if you need an alphabet poster in your home (because we all NEED one, right? haha) or in your nursery, I did take this whole series and make a poster out of it. Be sure to check it out. I will be offering one or two more letters from this series in the following weeks. That way we at least have “a”, “b”, and “c”, right?
Are you ready to be done with my talk about nothing really?
And so I say good bye. Check back tomorrow. I’m excited about the piece(S) that’ll be free tomorrow!
Oh! And be sure to sign up for a Happy Family illustration for the month of August!! Shopping cart is open!!

So Cute! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks!
And if you are going to give away four more of these, how about b-t-h-e for bathe? : )
ooh. Cute idea! Makes sense with it being about anatomy! Would be great in a bathroom! Hmmm… I’ll definitely consider it!!
I was so excited about this series last summer I had my mom download the daily gifts while I was on vacation so I would have the complete set! I used the poster for the front sleeve of my daughter’s kindergarten binder at school so we saw a lot of it and even still I love it!!
