I know I say this all the time, but this is one of my favorite Happy Family pieces I’ve worked on yet! What an adorable family! I LOVED the story about how the little guy likes to feed birds on their walks. If you’ll notice, in one of the photos, they have a birdhouse/feeder hanging off the stroller! So I bet he DOES get to see little birds up close and personal! What a neat idea!
Here is their entry:
|Would you prefer a vertical or a horizontal portrait?||Horizontal|
|What are you family Members names, ages, color hair, color eyes, etc.? And, tell me a bit about their personality.*||This is a gift -Family of 3. They are rather private and would prefer their names not be posted if thats ok.. (YEP! TOTALLY OK!!~Katie)Mother, dark brown wavy short length hair, east indian background, medium skin tone, brown eyes, casual dresser usually in jeans
Father, dark brown eyes,black hair, Phillipino, casual dresser also in jeans most of the time
Son, 3 years.. dark hair, brown eyes.
|The 3 to 5 prominent colors I would like in my piece include: *||yellows, reds, oranges|
|Tell me what you would like to see your family doing (would you like them just sitting all together posing, as if for a picture? Or would you like them to be doing something together). Please supply the most details here:||They have a trail near their house they like to take walks on.. there are trees on either side of the trail and in fall the ground is covered in yellow and orange leaves. The picture would be of them walking on the trail in the fall, similar to the photo. Nathan on dads shoulders. A SLR (Nikon) camera around both mom and dads necks as they both like photography. Nathan likes to feed the birds on their walk so maybe he could have his hand out with a bird flying to it.|
|Any other details you might be able to give me that would help ensure your enjoyment of the piece:||Pictures include some of the trail to give an idea of what it’s like.Pearls hair is straight in the pics, but can you have it wavy with that messy kinda look as that is usually how it is.Clothing, both adults in jeans, brown striped shirt for Ken as in pic as he wears that often. Nathan in a cap as in pic.
Sweet, huh? Loved it! And loved working in this color scheme too! Thanks Nerissa, for giving this piece to your friends as a gift. And for giving me the opportunity to create this piece!!

I’ll start off the month with the illustration for Cammie, the winner of Everyday Art Photography’s illustration giveaway! So check back to see what Cammie won!
