Of course this week would not be complete without depicting the Pilgrims and the Native American’s sitting down to share a dinner of thanksgiving together. This feast is the one the rest of our Thanksgivings have basically been based off of. We don’t know very much about it, but we do know that it happened, and that it was a day of celebration and thankfulness and togetherness. Some things have not changed. We may not be sitting outside on a homemade picnic table(s), nor having around 130 people present) nor eating the meat we just hunted, nor celebrating for three days…. On the other hand, we might be. :)

I sort of feel like I’ve been celebrating for three days. The longer we stay with my parents (we go home this morning to set up our tree), the longer the feast lasts. You aren’t hungry for a second around here. And just being home home, where I grew up, makes me continually thankful for the family and heritage I grew up in. I love this place and these people. I love their faith. And I have to say, though I don’t think I remember having a Thanksgiving with a freshly killed Turkey, I know I have had one with a nearly-freshly killed goose. We have had thanksgivings with turkey and goose at the table (or maybe those were Christmases.) And while 19 people is no where near 130, all crammed into a house, it sorta feels like it! :)

Anyways, this is the last day of the second to last series. There are FOUR more days to create a short series. And then creating free illustrations every day will be over. I don’t know what life will be like with sleep! :) Haha. That part, I have to say I am looking forward to. So is my body. I’ve been feeling it lately. But I am very glad to say my constant use of the creative part of my brain is no where near over! I love getting to be creative every single day. And because of the Happy Family Illustrations, I get to keep on keeping creative! Yay! And Keep on staying in touch with all of you!! Yay!

And finally, even though I will not be starting the family illustrations until January, I have some fun planned for December!! So still come back in December! You won’t want to miss it, even from the first week. I promise!!! I cannot wait to reveal what the first week will hold. Funness! That’s for sure!

For now, we say goodbye to this Thanksgiving series. And look forward to saying hello to one final series tomorrow.

Blessings to you this Sunday!
Katie
