Under the Sea: Oysters & Pearls
On Monday, Dana gave me this great idea! THANKS Dana for suggesting oysters with pearls!!! Love it! How could I not nab that idea?
So here’s my question for you today? What do you think of pearls? Old lady? Or timelessly beautiful?? I have come to realize that people are pretty opinionated about pearls, so I’m curious what you think of them?

It’s my birthstone- love love love them (and this illustration!).
I really like them.
I have a set in my ears, matching white pearls with a simple gold base, and I haven’t taken them out (except for cleaning) for over two years. I’m 20, so I consider it Granny Chic.
They are my birthstone as well. I love them and think they are a timeless Beauty! They remind me of Jacqueline Kennedy and I admire her. I got my first pearl necklace for Christmas this year. they are black pearls, I’ve never seen black ones, but they are gorgeous!

Oh I would’ve never thought of oysters and pearls, this is such a great one, I love the glow you put around the pearls!! I consider pearls the epitome of timeless beauty and my guess is you agree!
They’re my birthstone too and though I used to despise them when I was little…(I always wanted a birthstone that was more “sparkly”), I was given my great grandmother’s pearl necklace when I was 18 and I remember looking at it in it’s box with velvet lining and thinking that I’d never seen something so beautiful in all my life–sparkly diamonds included. Now, whenever I wear it, I feel like I could be in an old movie–sort of Audrey Hepburn-esque! Timeless beauty for sure, but they’re also fun to wear with jeans and a cute top!
Thinking of this made me want to suggest a jewelry series…or maybe shoes or handbags or sunglasses. Girly stuff (I don’t know why I’m suggesting this, as I’m not a girly girl myself) but I can definitely see some unique things coming out of your creative mind!

Very true about a little girl, bride, and grandmother! I have this old black and white pic of my mom as a little girl, and she has a string of pearls on… its my favorite picture of her…. partially because of the pearls! It’s so sweet you just wanna die!
