Family Circle: Mom & Baby
After getting away from illustrating human beings for a time, I really do miss it. To me, illustrating people is my sweet spot. I love it so. It’s where I can portray the greatest expression, drama, tenderness, humor, love, feeling, and so on. It’s where I get to tell the best stories. I’m so excited for this series this week. Call me an idiot that I didn’t do this series during the week of Mother’s Day (I seriously don’t know what I was thinking), but thankfully, I have another chance. This coming Sunday is Father’s Day. In honor of moms and dads everywhere, each piece this week will have a mom or dad and a child. For today, Mommy is enjoying a tender moment with her baby, holding him near, encircling him with her love. I am such a baby person. I never put my firstborn down as a baby (I mean never!), and now I only put down my second darling because I have to share my love equally between two. Too bad they don’t want to be held on to forever! I would if I could. These moments are just a blink aren’t they? Before I had Finnley (our second), I had almost forgotten what it was like when Judah (number one) was a baby! I know it won’t be long and I’ll only have foggy memories of Finnley’s baby days too. They are just too precious.
Hope you get lots of snuggle time today! Even if you have big kids! Life is too short to not hold our sweet ones tight.
Much love,
Katie

Oh, it is perfect! Absolutely darling. I can’t wait to see the rest of this series.

Oh wow, this is such a lovely picture, I love it!. It actually looks as though it could be my son and I, when he was just born, just the right colours
