Walt and the Golden Eggs: Spread 8
I know I said I’d be quiet over the next couple of weeks, but I guess that makes it a little boring around here. So I’ll have to check in a few more times before the book is complete!
The book has been so fun to work on! I hope you’ve been enjoying it and the gradual uncover! I NEVER would have thought I could do something like this in such a crazy SHORT amount of time! Normally, I would put in many many more hours illustrating and refining and illustrating and refining, but in a way its nice to not have the pressure of making something “perfect”. This daily format just doesn’t allow the time for that. I only really had one frustrating day (yesterday) when I wished I had a whole extra week (at least) to finish the piece. It was just so involved! I normally think of working on a book as taking months to accomplish, but I guess you never know what you’re capable of until you just have to do it!
The story writing part is tricky (on many levels) too. I won’t get into that now, but I promise I don’t consider myself a writer too. Just an illustrator, at best. Maybe a doodler, in the least.
haha. An illustrator with a little story to tell. Hope you don’t mind!
So here’s to another new week, and half of a book in completion!
I’ve missed you guys this week. Drop a line just to say hi! I’d love it!
Luv ya,
Katie

I am enjoying the story! Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Hi Christine! So glad you’re enjoying it!
I’ve been eager to read the new spread each day. I’m a wanna be writer, but have no skills in the illustration department so nothing much yet. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to sit down and write. Sometimes it seems I just can’t find my groove home with the three kids while hubby works away during each week. Hmmm, maybe I’ll have to dig some of it back out again and see if it helps with the stress!
I love the name of your small characters btw!
I know what you mean about being home with the kids by yourself and trying to accomplish anything else! There’s usually no spare seconds! That is for sure! How great that you get to be their full time Momma though!
Such a fun little story, I am trying to predict how it will end. Such fun colors. I want to know how you came up with the idea for the story. It’s so original. I am amazed every day what you crank out within the time frame. I mean being a momma too! Only you would think that they aren’t “perfect” thanks for sharing free parts of the book.
Awww… Thanks Kelsey! Thanks for saying it’s original! You are too sweet! Glad you are enjoying the story. I am curious how you are predicting it to end.
I wonder how predictable it really is!?
hi katie! just popping in to say hi and thanks so much for sharing this story with us – it’s so fun to check in everyday and see the new pages! it’s amazing to see it progress – it must be such an exciting feeling for you! what a wonderful talent you have!
Hi Dana! Thanks for saying hi!
It has been fun to see it progress. I know what the story will be from day to day, but not exactly how it will look. So its a surprise to me too! Take care!
