Signs of Spring: Blossom Comp
I almost didn’t illustrate flowers this week. I was thinking if I did a series on flowers, they should be done in May. You know, April showers bring May flowers? But I have to say that I’m glad late March and early April brought flowers on oohmoon. They feel like a glimpse of what is to come. They offer hope. They are a reminder that seasons change, come, and go. They are a reminder that after a long cold and maybe even difficult season, a new season is coming. That nothing stays the same forever. A reminder that all things can work out for the good. Just think, without the winter (for those of us from wintery locations), we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the beauty, brightness, colors, fragrance, and goodness of such blooms in the same way if we hadn’t just been through a bleak, relatively colorless, season of dormancy, and for some, difficulty (for those who would rather not brave the cold).
Hmmm…. if you’re wondering…. my thoughts are definitely thinking metaphorically today. Let this week be a reminder of one thing that we so often lose sight of:
hope.
Not just wishful thinking. But true hope. A better definition may be something like, “expectantly waiting for good.” In other words, knowing it’s coming, and now just watching/waiting for it to take place like a watchman in a tower. In particular, “expectantly waiting for God to work good.” Just as He not only can but does bring brilliant flowers into bloom after a season in which growth seemed impossible, the Bible says He can and does work out all things for good for those who love God! (Romans 8:28).
Hmmm… thinking. Pondering….
Hoping. Today.
Remember, whatever you circumstances… or weather!!… there’s always hope!
great big tight oooOOhugsOOooo,
Katie

Thank you so much for this post today! I kind of needed it…the winter has been long and I’m anxious for spring, but more so, we’re “expectantly waiting for God to work good” in my husband’s uncle. He fell and hit the back of his head back in the beginning of November and has been unconscious since, but we’re hoping and praying and waiting for the day he will wake up completely!
Thanks for your post today and the compilation. Your right hope is what we can hold on to. We are still waiting for a full time job and at times I’m getting really impatient. But hoping it comes soon, at least to understand what our next step is.
