Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

That electric train
That no one could tempt papa with
Will someone explain
Why it’s all that papa will bother with

I guess Christmas is for children
But aren’t we all children
Christmas day

My husband sat behind me while I was illustrating this piece and said, “Hmmm…. I wonder who that could be!” <wink> He was right! This is definitely him and our two boys, Judah and Finnley. Trains are all the rage at our house right now. Judah’s 2nd birthday was at the end of October, and for it we gave him a wooden train set. They are so cool these days. If you don’t have boys and already know this, they make train cars to connect by magnet! Which makes them SO easy for little fingers to play with and keep together! There is something quintessentially Christmas about trains and boys at this time of year, isn’t there? The scene is so true to life at my house. I have taken numerous pictures of my husband and son laying on the floor “chugga chugga choo chooing”. The song lyrics are so perfect and fitting. I wasn’t sure who was more excited about the train set when my son opened it… my son or his dad!! “But aren’t we all children Christmas day”?

Since I illustrated all girls yesterday, I thought it would only be fair to illustrate all boys today! Hope you parents of boys will appreciate this one! I promise to illustrate more boy topics in the future. I promise.

Again, I’m staying in a similar color scheme to the last couple of days of illustrations. I want all these pieces to work together in set. Can’t wait to use some of your ideas over the next couple of days. Thank you for sharing your creativity. You even gave me some ideas for next week!
